Fort Riley, Kan. – A Fort Riley Soldier died of injuries sustained from a noncombat related injury in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Feb. 7.

Pfc. Charles Williams was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 97th Military Police Battalion, United States Army Garrison, 1st Infantry Division.

Williams, 29, was an automation technician from Fair Oaks, Calif. He came into the Army April 2008. He was stationed at Fort Riley since December 2008. This was Williams' first deployment in support of the war on terrorism.
