Vernon: Jaime Sanchez, 31
Jaime Sanchez, a 31-year-old Latino, was shot several times and killed on Monday, May 18, in the 3400 block of 26th Street in Vernon, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Sanchez was shot about 9:40 a.m. at his place of work, Bohnhoff Lumber Co. His boss, and the owner of the lumber yard, Charles Alan Bohnhoff, 55, was also killed.
Saul Gastelum Moreno, 51, has been charged with the murders of both men and the attempted murder of Bohnhoff's son, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
Moreno had apparently gotten into a work-related argument with Bohnhoff, which led to the shooting, according to the district attorney's office.
Prosecutors allege that Moreno pointed a gun at Bohnhoff's son, who was not named, but the trigger jammed. Vernon police arrived at the scene and saw Moreno driving away. Police chased him until he crashed in Huntington Park, then he was arrested and a gun was recovered, the Whittier Daily News reported.
According to the district attorney's office Moreno is eligible for the death penalty, the decision whether to seek it has not been made.

It's sad that the media can release stuff that is not true at all because the cops in this case lied to cover up there mistake. When this first happened I found myself asking over and over why would he do this? - this just wasn't Mitch.
After all was confirmed and the autopsy and investigative report was released all my questions were answered. He never, not once, lunged! As a matter a fact he was shot in the back many times. He was actually never face to face with the cop.
The cops gave a press release that was a blatant lie.
I guess this goes to show how much we buy into the lies and misleading of the media and this case the cops.
It's also sad that people are so quick to judge a situation and not think of the ones that were left behind. I can only hope that his daughter never comes across people praising her daddies death.
