Shabbat Shalom -- Nobu Adilman

Nobu Adilman

Nobu Adilman co-created the hit Canadian show Food Jammers, in which he builds innovative contraptions like file cabinet meat smokers and taco vending machines. He’s currently pitching a new show called Getting to Nobu: Putting the Jew in Jewpanese about his search for other Jewish/Japanese people. White fish sushi anyone?

BTW, I'm pretty sure that spelling of pResident comes from Snarky Basterd hisself, leastways that's where I think I first saw it.

Dennis Miller and Sarah Palin

Dennis Miller was in fine form today.
Walking the boy dog tonight, listening to Miller while Boydog sniffed, my neighbors thought something was wrong with me I was laughing so much.
Guess I don't normally look that happy on this end of the leash.
Miller was having fun.
Miller was goofy happy.
Miller's pissed too.
Mosque at Ground Zero? Madness.
Taxes? Madness.
Union madness? Madness.
Michael Vick? Madness. Never forgive him.
Cutting off the water to farms in California for some fish -- causing 40% unemployment in the Central Valley? Smelt madness.
Mosque at Ground Zero? Madness.
Miller's liking New Jersey Governor Chris Christie -- calls him the Fat Man. Wants him on his show.
The BP oil in the Gulf?
Classic Miller (from sidewalk memory -- not a transcript):
I'd put Sarah Palin in charge down there. She'd try things. If one thing didn't work, she'd try something else. She knows the business. She'd do things. Is she a genius? No. She doesn't need to be a genius. She's a conservative. There are only five moving parts to the conservative bullshit machine. If you're a liberal you have a whole Rube Goldberg contraption to your bullshit machine.
Don't that about sum up your bullshit for ya?
Mosque at Ground Zero? Madness.

I Got's A Gusher!

From Jim Geraghty's Morning Jolt:
I'm no engineer, but I'm rather struck that we can build something that can drill so deep, so far from land, and yet not have a good way to shut the darn thing off if something goes wrong, not even if we give some of the best minds in the subject a month and a ton of cash. The footage of the Gulf coast is horrifying, those helpless sea birds heartbreaking, and around the ten-thousandth time that Axelrod reminds you that Energy Secretary Steven Chu won the Nobel Prize, you start wondering, "Hey, if we took his and Obama's Nobels and stuck 'em together, any chance they would make a decent plug for that hole?"
I'm no engineer either, but I'll take any opportunity to post this Nobel deserving video. BP. Beltway Punks:

Send Governor Mrs. Palin to the Gulf of Mexico, Mr. President

From Big Government:
Obama Should Send Sarah Palin to Louisiana
by Jason Killian Meath:
But now, it seems Sarah Palin deserves yet another look. She’s the energizer bunny of politicians – a hockey mom from Wasilla who looks just as comfortable in a hard hat as she does in a red leather jacket. One can easily picture her in a room full of brainy engineers declaring, ‘This is a time to grab the grizzly by the ear and cap this gusher.’ The White House is already spending time they clearly don’t have in the midst of this crisis belittling Palin’s take-charge approach. And there will be those who will chastise her for her ‘Drill Baby Drill’ position — and they will conveniently forget this is Obama’s exact position. But in a crisis, Palin’s leadership style stands in sharp contrast to Obama’s community leader approach.
The President is disturbingly comfortable waiting and watching to see how others handle a problem, while watching the Gulf of Mexico become the world’s largest pool of gelatinous goo.
Read it all.
Because, yeah, he's in over his head. And she is not. Heh.

BP "Beltway Punk" Gibbs Twit-Slapped by Mrs. Todd Palin

Josh Painter at Texas For Sarah Palin gives us the latest sabbath Gibbsmackin' by Governor Mrs. Palin :
SUNDAY, MAY 23, 2010
Sarah Palin to 'Beltway Bob' Gibbs: Dispute this!

"During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years... Dispute these facts."
Josh Painter gives the White House BP/unks an additional boom1-smack:
Boom! The Palin Blackberry leaves a mark. Gov. Palin is so living inside the White House that they should be charging her rent.
- JP
I'm wondering if rent is actually due here, seems like Governor Palin owns it -- and them -- more and more each day.

Arizona Anthem -- 1070 Interlude -- Ray Stevens

I Heart Weiners

Look, I took a day off and what do I get?
Pressure from Faithful Reader Numero Uno (that's a little Arizona 1070 lingo para ti).
That's what I get. Pressure.
Big shout out to the Northern Interior: Okay, I'm back.
So, what's cooking today?
As you know, I'm neither a fan nor not a fan of Glenn Beck. Or not a fan yet. Yesterday's radio show was good enough. I'm sure I'll listen again.
Primarily because SiriusXM just juggled their programming and Beck's on their schedule now, on both Sirius and on XM -- Patriot and American Right, 144 and 166.
I cannot fault their business decisions, but I miss the Mike Church replay at bedtime and I really miss Bill Bennett in the morning. Why else get up at 3 a.m.?
Don't mind hearing Mike Church in the morning, he having taken Bennett's slot, and I can record Church for later if I like, but what the heck? Where's Bennett?
And I'm sure Beck's show will keep me company on my long long long road trip this summer. Good radio in good America.
Still, alla that notwithstanding, I do especially like Glenn Beck's Weiner Facts, updated frequently on the World Wide Weiner Web.
When will these weiner clowns learn not to mess around any more? Their weenie days are numbered and it's too much fun not to mess around right back at them. Don't believe me? Just ask Snarky Bastard.

Arlen "Single Bullet Theory" Specter

Regarding Arlen "Single Bullet Theory" Specter's loss in Pennsylvania yesterday, Peter Tilden was in top form at 5:05 a.m. this morning:

"This was not a message to anyone about anything. This was about an old guy trying to save his job with special socks."
-- Peter Tilden
Gotta have sympathy for Mrs. Specter -- Arlen's gonna be around the house all day long now.

Shavuot

שבועות
As Carl in Jerusalem says, On Shavuot, we celebrate receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai.
To celebrate, we spend the entire night studying Torah (to make up for our ancestors who went to sleep!) and then at sunrise we pray the morning prayers and read the ten commandments.

Blessed Shavuot.

Boycott Arizona -- Cockfighting Files

Nazi sheriffs call it animal cruelty, Obama voters call it a way of life.

Arizona Cockfighting Ring Busted; Nearly 70 Arrested
Updated: Monday, 17 May 2010, 10:36 PM MDT

Published : Monday, 17 May 2010, 7:02 AM MDT
TONOPAH, Ariz. - An illegal cockfighting ring was busted in the west valley and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is not taking this animal cruelty lightly...
All of the suspects were booked for being present at a cockfight -- a class one misdemeanor. The two property owners, Apolinar Dominguez and Sara Lomas, are facing several felony charges. MCSO says both suspects are illegal immigrants.
As an indicator of the strong family values of the cockfighting community, some in attendance at the cockfight even had their children with them. In a further surprise twist to this story, guns, drugs, and $25,000 in cash were found at the scene of the genteel cross-cultural festivities.

Boycott Arizona -- Highland Park Files

DH is reporting in from Chicago again, this time with a connect to a piece from the Chicago Lampoon, covering the Highland Park High School girls basketball team getting Hebsoned by education flunky bitch Assistant Superduperintendent Suzan Hebson:
By now most have heard that Highland Park High School will not permit its championship girls basketball team to travel to Arizona for a tournament.

The girls had reportedly spent months selling cookies to raise funds for the trip, only to have an ideological warrior, Assistant District 113 Superintendent, Suzan Hebson, veto the trip.

Hebson, said that the new Arizona law intended to enforce U.S. residency laws in light of an onslaught of illegal alien settlement there, "would not be aligned with our beliefs and values."

Ms. Hebson is paid $206,319 [not a typo] a year to issue such profound pronunciamentos according to the Family Taxpayers Network teachers salaries report (see it here under the "Top 200 salaries" category: http://www.familytaxpayers.org/salary.php

Usually, when such morally superior uplifters as Suzan Hebson issue forth such ukases*, there is a hypocrisy to be found nearby.
Read it all here.

*Thanks too, to the Chicago Lampoon for the word of the day:
ukase --An imperial proclamation issued by a czarina having the force of law over hoi polloi, peons, serfs, sheeple, taxpayers and hard-working, deserving Girl-Giants.

Boycott Arizona -- But Maybe Not So Much During Fire Season

Every year Califonia requests help from Arizona firefighters to battle the Golden State's horrific wildfires. Every year Arizona firefighters suit up to help.
This year California clowns prissy posers statesmen are calling for a boycott of raaaacist Arizona because raaaacist Arizona chooses to enforce already existing raaaacist federal immigration law, the raaasacists.
Will Nazi-like Arizona match the el stupido boycott when California fire season commences?
I'm not much of a hoping man, but: I hope not.
I'm not much of a betting man either, but I bet the real men of Arizona will show up and back up prissy California the way real men do. Get the job done and then head home.
Adios, Villaraigosa, adios, Schwarzenegger.
Arizona firefighters heading to help California crews

Members of the Yuma Fire Department are in southern California helping battle a nasty, wind-driven wildfire in San Bernadino County.
Yuma fire said it received a mutual aid request from the Imperial Valley Strike Team Sunday.
An engine and four personnel left Yuma to meet with other Strike Team members in Calipatria, Calif., before heading to the fire scene.
The fire had destroyed three homes in remote canyons but firefighters had kept it from encroaching into the town of Wrightwood, about 75 miles east of Los Angeles. Between 4,000 to 6,000 residents were ordered to evacuate and at least 200 homes remained threatened.
The fire had burned at least 7,500 acres, or nearly 12 square miles, by Monday morning and was 20 percent contained.

Trig Palin, Mom and Dad

Laura Bush -- Reagan Library This Morning

Off again to Simi Valley.
Lunch with Mrs. Reagan and Mrs. Bush (the younger).
Well, since you insist on pushing it, let us be honest; So no, I won't be at the Reagan-Bush luncheon table, I'll be at some other table if I stick around for the eats included in the price of admission. Big big donors get the good seats. That's as it should be. No complaints from me.
Wonder if it's buffet or sit-down? Either way, the cookies are always good out there.
Boss giving me the day off for my favorite librarian. Well, not the whole day, have to work until 8:00 a.m. Then I'm outta here. That's not bad.
What the heck, one more Mrs. Bush picture -- Hush George:
Here, I'll do the search for ya. Looksee and remember graciousness personified.
