Slacker Archives

So I was on the slackers' exit shuttle this afternoon -- those of us leaving campus at 2:00 p.m. are known as The Slackers (of course none of those real slackers are on the 6 a.m. incoming shuttle with me are they? Nope, they're not.) and anyway young Pavel Leib, a science professor, Russian Jew, and long ago graduate now teaching at his alma mater said, unasked:
"You know in Russian the same word for "marriage" also means "a job poorly done.""
We all laughed in disbelief but it could be true and we all actually believed him.
